IAMAs First Audit to Ensure Reliable and High-Quality Supplemental Type Certificates

The Independent Aircraft Modifier Alliance (IAMA) core value is to create high-level modifications through Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs). Therefore, the IAMA Rulebook, first released in March 2020, defines a high-quality standard and is an indispensable resource for aircraft Modifiers, Airlines, and Lessors. Together with the IAMA Rulebook, the audit process will help certify credible and remarkable STCs for airlines and the aviation industry at large. We are proud to announce that our first member has passed the audit, and this has been a significant milestone for our alliance and the aircraft retrofit market participants.

 

IAMA Continues to Build Trust in Supplemental Type Certificate Projects

Since day one, IAMA's primary goal has been to assure that independent aircraft retrofit members modifying aircraft through Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects sustain a top-notch standard. To sustain the high-quality standard, independent validation of compliance is vital. Therefore we are incredibly pleased to announce that our first official audit has recently occurred in Paris, France. One of our founding members, Eclipse Technics, was first to be audited by our independent partner, Quali-audit. Now that they positively passed the audit, they have acquired the right to use an IAMA endorsement label on their modifications. Eclipse Technics is the first of many more members to be audited and helps us bring the aircraft retrofit market to a higher level.

 

Audit Program to Reinforce STC Standard

Gradually advancing the auditing program for all of our full and basic members is a forerunner push in our ambition to bolster our well-defined STC standards. The audit helps assess a member's compliance with the IAMA Rulebook Standard and their ability to operate in a controlled and stable manner throughout their STC project Lifecycle. The approach is designed to protect the integrity of the IAMA endorsement and develop consistency across alliance modifier members. Our alliance is convinced that IAMA endorsed Supplemental Type Certificates will provide additional significance to the aviation market.
