IAMA Continues Progressive Advocacy for High-Quality Independent Modifications at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2022
Jun 14, 2022
HAMBURG, Germany, 14 June 2022 - IAMA, the Independent Aircraft Modifier Alliance, is proud to continue its progressive advocacy for high-quality Independent modifications at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2022. Additionally, the alliance will unveil IAMA Rulebook Version 3.0, which has matured significantly since the organization’s launch at AIX in 2019.
Since its establishment, the alliance’s top accomplishment has been its development of the IAMA Rulebook. This customer-centric, high-quality standard mandates rules and best practices for delivering first-class modifications and documentation. First released in March 2020, the essential industry resource provides guidance to achieve superior modifications through Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs). Since the initial release, IAMA has progressively refined the Rulebook based on new industry challenges. In keeping with its standards-based approach, IAMA Rulebook 3.0 incorporates rules addressing industry challenges regarding request for proposal clarity, after-sales commitments, de-modification considerations, and others.
Following audits earlier this year, many members have already been found in compliance with the Rulebook, a significant milestone. “Alongside our mission to continually improve the Rulebook’s rules and guidance, we reached a compelling landmark with our first round of successful audits,” said Nina Schulz, IAMA’s managing director. “The program was administered by an independent auditing organization and is a significant advancement in our ambition to develop the pinnacle of standards for aircraft modifications accomplished via STC projects.”
“We highly recommend airlines and lessors choose IAMA-endorsed STCs,” Schulz explained. “Members who pass their audit are authorized to provide IAMA-endorsed STCs because they demonstrate their compliance with the IAMA Standard and their commitment and ability to provide the highest quality modifications.”
The IAMA team will be available at Stand 2D51, where AIX attendees can better understand the alliance’s advocacy role in the retrofit modification market and learn about the benefits of being a member. Airlines and lessors can obtain a complimentary subscription directly at the IAMA booth to gain access to the Rulebook and all the alliance’s educational materials. IAMA encourages design organizations interested in helping shape the standard to join the alliance.
